As our Data Engineering Lead, you’ll shape and scale the backbone of our modern data stack powering everything from product sizing and marketing attribution to supply chain planning, helping MR MARVIS grow faster, smarter, and more sustainably. 

You’ll lead and grow a small team of data and analytics engineers, working cross-functionally to drive best-in-class data quality, observability, and modeling practices.

What you'll do

Platform Ownership 

  • Own the design, scalability, and reliability of our modern cloud data platform (BigQuery, dbt, Python, Dagster) 

  • Contribute to platform scalability and reliability goals by identifying quality, latency, and lineage gaps 

  • Contribute hands-on to code development, ensuring high quality and reusability 

  • Lead the ingestion of new data sources and integration with external partner systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and governance compliance 

  • Design and maintain modular, well-documented, and version-controlled data pipelines optimized for reuse across teams 

  • Develop and maintain our semantic layer to support consistent, self-serve analytics 

  • Implement data observability and alerting tools to ensure freshness, accuracy, and reliability 

  • Drive high standards in data modeling, data quality, and platform performance 


Team Leadership 

  • Mentor a small team of data and analytics engineers, supporting growth and learning 

  • Guide the team in planning, prioritization, and trade-offs, balancing short-term delivery with long-term technical vision 

  • Foster a strong engineering culture with a focus on documentation, testing, and reliability 


Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Own stakeholder alignment and expectation-setting during delivery planning 

  • Translate business and analytics requirements into scalable and resilient technical solutions by working closely with stakeholders in product, marketing, operations, and finance to align data solutions with real-world needs 

  • Champion clear data ownership 

What you'll bring

  • 6+ years in data engineering roles 

  • Advanced proficiency in English, SQL and Python 

  • Proven end-to-end ownership of data engineering projects, from stakeholder engagement to delivering clean, reliable data for reporting and operational use 

  • Knowledge of cloud computing, containerization, and modern DevOps practices 

  • Experience with (self-managed) ELT/ETL pipelines, cloud data warehouses (BigQuery/Snowflake/AWS), and modern orchestration (e.g. Airflow/Prefect/Dagster) 

  • Deep knowledge of scalable data modeling practices, with a strong preference for long-term sustainability over short-term fixes, and seek scalable, systemic solutions. 

  • Hands-on experience implementing observability frameworks, including monitoring, alerting, and root-cause analysis for data quality issues 

  • Strong product and business mindset, with the ability to translate complex requirements into robust, cost-effective data solutions 

  • Excellent communicator, with a structured, documentation-first approach and the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders 

  • Bonus: Understanding of governance and compliance frameworks (e.g. GDPR) 

  • Bonus: Experience in retail, e-commerce, or supply chain analytics.
