At MR MARVIS, we are on the lookout for a skilled Business Intelligence Specialist who speaks fluent English and SQL, thrives working in a fast-changing environment, and most importantly, can translate data into actionable business strategies.

You will work closely with various teams within the organisation, focusing on delivering value by leveraging data. Your responsibility within the Data & Analytics team will encompass identifying data needs, developing data models and designing reports and dashboards to inform decision-makers and provide meaningful insights for the business strategy.

You'll play a pivotal role in our data-driven initiatives, including optimising the marketing strategy, enhancing customer experiences, and driving sustainable growth.

What you'll do

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define business needs and requirements, and then translate these into data solutions.

• Designing and maintaining data contracts with various stakeholders;
• Work closely with data engineers to develop and maintain SQL queries for data extraction and analysis;
• Building and maintain automated reports and dashboards;
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses, from data collection to presenting the findings to the relevant stakeholders;
• Contribute to our data governance strategy and ensure adherence to data privacy principles;
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data related business requirements, metrics, datasets, queries used.

What you'll bring

• Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken;

• 2-3 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Specialist, Data Analyst or similar role(s);
• SQL superstar;
• Sheets/Excel superstar;
• Demonstrable data visualisation experience;
• Experience with Looker Studio and/or Tableau, Power BI, Looker;
• Ability to independently carry out an analysis from A to Z, from data collection to pitching actionable results to the relevant stakeholders;
• Affinity with data in the domain of e-commerce, marketing, retail and finance.

Nice to haves

• Experience with Lightdash, Metabase, or similar tools;

• Experience with tools like dbt for data transformation;
• Familiarity with data cataloguing/dictionary;
• Experience with modern analytical warehouses (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake) is a nice plus;
• Familiarity with version control, e.g. GitHub;
• Experience with Python and any other programming language is a plus;
• Experience with Retool.
